MRW Online Presents: “Representing Federal Employees In Discrimination Cases: An Overview”

One of the largest employers in America, the federal government employs more than 2.5 Million people.  Sadly, many of these employees face discrimination everyday despite the adoption of many policies aimed at eliminating discrimination from the federal workplace.  Many federal workers who encounter employment discrimination cannot or do not seek recourse because they are unfamiliar with, or misunderstand, the unique administrative channels available to them.  Remarkably, employment lawyers commonly share this misunderstanding.

This series of blog posts will aim to provide an overview of the various administrative steps required of federal employment discrimination claimants.  While the series’ primary intended audience is attorneys representing claimants, others may certainly find them useful and informative.  If you or an acquaintance are confronting employment discrimination in the federal workplace, please know that reviewing this series is not a substitute for direct consultation with a competent attorney.
